Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment. It helps to improve the appearance of wrinkles, imperfections and acne scars as well as improving the tone and texture of your skin.
By combining radiofrequency energy with microneedling, the treatment can be performed even more accurately and effectively. You could see better results than traditional microneedling with less damage to the surface of your skin. We use the Lutronic Infini RF microneedling device to perform this treatment.
What is RF microneedling?
Microneedling is a common skin rejuvenation treatment that can treat a variety of skin imperfections. However, because it works by puncturing the skin with tiny needles, the process can damage the surface of your skin.
Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling avoids this issue by using radiofrequency energy to accurately target the desired depth. This means the surface of your skin is spared from potential cosmetic damage.
How does it work?
By using tiny needles to create micro-wounds in your skin, microneedling initiates your body’s natural healing processes. In this case, your body responds by producing more collagen; an essential protein for keeping your skin firm and fresh.
The new skin cells that are generated in response to microneedling improve the appearance of your skin and help to deal with imperfections such as wrinkles, acne scars and dark spots.
Is it safe?
Microneedling is almost pain-free. However, if you have a low pain threshold then numbing cream may be applied to the target area to minimise your discomfort.
You may experience a bit of redness in the target area immediately after your treatment. However this is normally very mild and should dissipate within 48 hours.
When will I start to see results?
This depends on a number of factors, such as the type, tone and condition of your skin. It also depends on the size of the targeted area. Some patients see immediate results, whilst others may not see visible results until four or more treatments.
